Meet Frau Ursula
On a Personal note
Who am I?
Hi. I’m Ursula – your certified German language Teacher. As a former Executive, an enthusiast, a traveler, a learner, a teacher, a tutor, a coach, a wife, a mother, a friend, an expat, I’ve combined all my passions into my work to help others to learn German and create a great life that my students truly love and enjoy.
What do I believe in?
Moving from Germany to immigrate to the US was a very enriching experience that I believe is a great gift. It is a gift for us and those who are asked, sent to go abroad, who’ve been given the opportunity to learn and teach something new, by growing and sharing our skills and experience. And it is a gift that we give to others – by enriching their lives through our knowledge, different perspective and personality.
As former Executive in the Environmental Industry Ursula has experiences for 25 years as Foreign Language Advisor in corporations with different nationalities. Since 2007 Ursula has worked as a volunteer in Elementary School. She started to teach German in 2007 in a Saturday school all age groups (5- 16). She became the lead teacher for the Immersion Summer camps. She took several seminars, extension studies in DaF (Deutsch als Fremdsprache -German as foreign language), went back to University in Jena Germany, to become a certified DaF teacher. Since 2009 she works with students of all ages as young as 7 to age 65, around the globe for their success to learn German through online classes via SKYPE. She opened German School campus in 2015 in Newport Beach California, is the School Director and leads classroom based German classes to children age 4 to 17. She joins with her husband and son (an Eagle Scout) the Boys Scouts of America. As Assisted Scoutmaster, she took several training classes to lead youth in the outdoors and through camps.

We teach German as DaF ( Deutsch als Fremdsprache- German as foreign Language) to the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR).
The CEFR describes foreign language proficiency at six levels: A1 ( Beginner) and A2 ( Intermediate) DSD1/ B1 ( Advanced) and DSD II/ B2 and C1 ( High Advanced) and C2 ( Fluent as Translator).
It also defines three ‘plus’ levels (A2+, B1+, B2+). Based on empirical research and widespread consultation, this scheme makes it possible to compare tests and examinations across languages and national boundaries. Our curriculum includes conversation, listening, reading and writing, German culture and applied geography.
We have a very fluid learning environment – both socially and academically. The small class size enables the teachers to focus on each child’s unique needs. Offering your child an opportunity to learn another language is a fabulous gift.
