Air, Wednesday 29th of June 2016
Another beautiful day with lots of sunshine and a high temperature. On the third day of our Camp week, we had “air” in our program. Students created a poster of what comes to their minds when we talk about the air. We looked into the most important part of the atmosphere, “The Oxygen Cycle” of photosynthesis.
We searched for matching vocabulary for our climate to match between verbs and nouns. Data about ozone depletion was in discussion, and we googled up the 10 dirtiest cities in the world. “What can be done against the smog?” “Do you live in a clean city?”
We watched a movie about the beginning of the windmill – the idea of the dynamo. Who was Ernst Werner Siemens?
Turning wind into electricity—how does wind power work and what about the international comparison? Students worked with memory cards to match pictures and vocabulary together. They filled in a cloze with all the important new words. The day went by very fast and the students went home happy.
