Today’s Element is Earth.

What a beautiful day to start our first Summer Camp at Sea Base. We have sunshine, clear water, and a blue sky. The classroom is set up outside and we greeted our students at 8:30 am.
The first introduction to the Element Earth was the story of “Der Weltenprinz”, what do you think when you see the Earth? Students created a poster of the element of Earth.
We watched a short movie about “Sustainability” and played a game, students sorted recyclables and learned about redemption values. We looked into the German system and how recycling works in households.
Students learned about the continents, the tectonic plates, and how earthquakes happen. Climate change and what everyone can do to protect the earth were taught through a memory game.
We discussed and worked together through the vocabulary and worksheets. Students planted herbs to take something home to watch it grow. The first day went by so fast and everyone was excited about the next day.
