Ursula Schoeneich received a Certificate of Merit by Goethe-Institut / AATG 2022
Four educators will be recognized with the Goethe‐Institut/AATG Certificate of Merit for their achievements in furthering the teaching of German: James Brown, teacher of German at Fallston Middle School, Fallston, Maryland; Richard Jones, teacher of German at Fallston High School, Fallston, Maryland; Ursula Schoeneich, founder, school director, and teacher of German at German School campus, Newport Beach, California; and Kathy Weingand, teacher of German at UC Scout Program, University of California, Santa Cruz; Cabrillo College in Aptos; and Merced College, Merced, California.
The American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) will recognize German teachers and programs. for their outstanding contributions to the teaching and learning of German in the US. The 2022 award recipients will be recognized at a virtual presentation to be held on November 13.
With their dedication to excellence in German language instruction, these award recipients promote the transatlantic friendship between the US and German‐speaking countries and foster the much‐needed intercultural awareness so their students can lead successful lives in a globalized world,” said Priscilla Layne, president of the American Association of Teachers of German.
