AATG National Exam & Credits
The AATG National German Exam
German School Campus proudly prepares and registers our 7-12 students for the prestigious National German Exam (NGE), administered by the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG). This exam is taken by nearly 20,000 high school students nationwide each year.
- National Recognition: Compare proficiency levels with German learners across the United States.
- Medals & Awards: Earn Gold, Silver, and Bronze presidential honor awards that stand out on high school transcripts.
- Scholarship Opportunities: Top-scoring students are eligible to apply for the prestigious AATG/PAD Study Trip to Germany.
- High School Credit Verification: AATG test results provide objective proof of language proficiency for school districts.
Preparation & Testing Levels
The AATG exams are designed to assess language proficiency across multiple levels (Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4). Our curriculum directly supports the vocabulary, listening comprehension, and reading skills required to excel at each tier.
Stand Out on College Applications
Universities look for students who go above and beyond the standard curriculum. Earning a medal on the AATG National German Exam demonstrates dedication, academic rigor, and verified bilingual capabilities to college admissions boards.
How to Participate
Students enrolled in our 7-12 High School program are automatically guided through the preparation process. The exams are typically administered in the winter/spring semester right at our Newport Beach campus or via verified online testing protocols.
