Program Highlights
German School Campus is an immersive, project-based, and globally focused learning community, rather than simply a language class. Explore the framework of our curriculum:
Growing with Your Child: Pre-K through 6th Grade
Our curriculum is carefully designed to grow with each student. Beginning with playful language immersion in Pre-K and Kindergarten, children gradually develop reading, writing, critical thinking, and communication skills through engaging, age-appropriate experiences.
Forest Learning (Waldprojekt)
Students explore the natural world through seasonal outdoor activities inspired by the German Waldpädagogik approach. Younger children discover nature through observation, play, and exploration, while older students investigate ecosystems, sustainability, and environmental stewardship through increasingly complex projects.
Bees, Gardens & Environmental Science
From planting flowers and observing pollinators in the early years to studying biodiversity, gardening, and environmental responsibility in the elementary grades, students develop curiosity and respect for the natural world while expanding their German vocabulary.
Project-Based Learning
Learning comes alive through interdisciplinary projects that connect German with science, geography, history, engineering, art, and culture. As students progress through the elementary grades, projects become more research-based, collaborative, and academically challenging.
STEM in German
Students explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics entirely in German through experiments, design challenges, coding, and hands-on investigations. Activities become increasingly sophisticated as students advance through the program.
Literacy Development
Pre-K and Kindergarten students build early literacy through songs, stories, phonics, and picture books. Beginning in 2nd grade, students engage in more structured reading and writing, expanding their vocabulary, improving grammar, and developing confidence in written and spoken German.
Arts, Creativity & Culture
Music, storytelling, drama, visual arts, and creative projects foster imagination while reinforcing language acquisition. Students also experience the traditions, history, and celebrations of the German-speaking world throughout the year.
Leadership & Collaboration
Students build confidence, independence, and teamwork through cooperative learning, presentations, and collaborative projects. As they mature, they take greater ownership of their learning and develop strong communication and leadership skills.
Preparing Global Citizens
By combining language learning with cultural understanding, environmental awareness, and critical thinking, students develop the knowledge and confidence to thrive in an interconnected world.
A Continuous Learning Pathway
Our Pre-K through 6th Grade program provides a strong academic foundation for continued study in our middle and high school programs, leading to high school world language credit, internationally recognized ÖSD language certification, and the Global Seal of Biliteracy.
