SOCAL German Day 2017 at UCI

The Day started with German weather in Southern California with rain showers but turned into sunshine after a while.

German School campus students and Frau Ursula Schoeneich met at UCI to join the three hours filled program which was put together by. Glenn Levine, Professor of German and German Language Program Director at UCI. Dean of Humanities, Georges van den Abbeele, as we well as the Deputy Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Kathrin Steinbrenner welcomed teachers and students to the event. In addition, sessions were led by Peter Zykowski of the Goethe Institute San Francisco, Hanni Geist from the DAAD, and Vera Dindoyal from the ZfA-Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen of the Federal Republic of Germany.


Students of German School campus won the German Trivia Quiz 1 with 20 to 11 against other High School students. They joined classes of “Getting a Degree in Germany”, “Step into German with Soccer and Music”, a “German Theater workshop”.
Everyone joined the UCI Campus Tour and went then to the Mensa for a lunch invite by Frau Schoeneich. Gifts were given and every student and chaperone took a bag of information’s about the German studies, home.
